Developing Independence
Despite many thinking otherwise, Independence does not have to mean complete independence and absolute freedom. Ultimately its what it means to you.
Someone might feel independent when they have the opportunity to participate in their weekly shopping with the support of a walking frame. Others might feel the same independence by being assisted to do their shopping with the support of a wheelchair and support worker.

Changing social paradigms is seeing each individual person as different and unique regardless of ability or disability. As such we are not “Able” or “Disabled” but rather we are all individual and uniquely abled.
This could also apply to being Dependent or Independent. We may all, at varying times in our lives be Dependent or Independent. Fulfilling our our dreams and goals and sometimes relying on others for support.
Lifestyle Independence and Support Services can assist both the Dependent and Independent areas of your life. We take an approach that wil assist you to do what you are able to do and do for you what you can not.
